What Is Salt and Light In the World?

Here at Fashions we love reading books and from our readings we all form an opinion.  We might not even agree but one thing we agree on is everybody makes a choice.  That is what makes civilized people friends.  It is called agree to disagree. Christians are to be salt/light in the world.  Overcome evil with good.   Learn TRUE history in order not to repeat it.

Matthew 5

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?

It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14  Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth

light unto all that are in the house.

16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father  which is in   HEAVEN.

I receive hundreds of questions asking me to tell Jot readers what to do.  My approach is that the Lord should tell you what to do once you understand the issue and are equipped to deal with it.  I will depart from that this first time ever to give you an idea of something that may be very effective and is an easy thing to do.  Now I understand that many Christians do not believe in public/political action.  To those, I say that you ought to follow God rather than men.  We are to overcome evil with good, occupy til the return of Christ, make disciples, be salt and light, and a multitude of other verses.  The Apostles in the early church took on the most powerful political system on earth and defeated it with just the Sword of the Spirit.  But it took prayer and action, and many of them were killed nonetheless.

If Christians do not stand against the unrighteous, evil will overcome good.  And nations are held accountable not just you as an individual.  There are many verses in the Bible that point to this.  Examples:  Psalm 9:17. “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget YHVH.”  Proverb 29:2. “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.”  If this government of our country is allowed to abolish our civil rights, there will be no quarter, especially for the Christian.  Most of us cannot even imagine the suffering and injustices that absolute governmental power would bring upon us, our children and the generations to come.  We can wax noble and speak spiritual cliches, but ask a Christian in China, or one who survived the Soviet Union, or a Christian in Iran.

Make no mistake, we are in a fight for future souls.  God blessed and prospered this nation for His purposes.  Now we are divided between the wicked and the righteous, between darkness and light, a struggle between the unjust and the just.  Unfortunately, far to many are so heavenly minded they are no earthly good.  Those who know the truth and act on it will have great reward.  Those who are luke warm will be as like vomit.  So it is time to wake up.  I really like what the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 13:12, “The night is far spent, the day is at hand; let us therefore cast off off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”

The enemy’s plan is to use the emotions of people through terrible crisis to scuttle our civil rights and render us ineffective for kingdom purposes- not that we need much help as our apathy and self indulgence is assisting this plan nicely.  Notwithstanding, it is time to stand.  The tip of the spear is to take away the 2nd Amendment or render it meaningless.  If this done, other Constitutional guarantees are easy marks.  Whether you believe in gun ownership or not, this is not the true issue.  The true issue is cracking the foundation so the entire Constitution is rendered totally interpretive by whomever is in power.
